Why
do we need it?
We
are creatures of habit and over time we acquire habitual patterns
of muscular tension which operate unconsciously every time we
move or react.
These
patterns cause unnecessary wear and strain on muscles and joints,
pain, fatigue, impaired mobility and less efficient use of the
body.
Learning
the Alexander Technique increases awareness of these patterns,
and so allows change towards better whole-body use and greater
skill in everything we do
