Learning
the Technique
The
Alexander technique is primarily educational in nature. The object
of study is your own body use, and you learn about the habitual
tensions and reactions that may be causing you problems.
What
happens in a lesson?
Teaching
is one-to-one and is tailored to your needs. The teacher uses gentle
touch and verbal guidance to help you develop an awareness of
yourself in movement and in rest. Over a course of regular lessons
you become aware of how you hold tension, and how to release it
in ordinary activities.
