The Alexander Technique with Jill Payne

About the Technique

Health
Life can be stressful, and we respond to the daily pressure by creating and holding muscular tension.  This can become a habit, and the internal pressure it creates causes pain, stiffness and long-term health problems.

Self Help
The Alexander Technique is a self-help method for preventing these problems.  Working with your teacher you learn to identify and control your habits of tension which cause compression and strain, and find your natural balance again.

Gentle Hands-On Work
The hands-on work is calming and you will begin to use your body in a smoother, more efficient way.  Over time your posture, gait and general health improve.  Skills of awareness and control build your confidence and improve your enjoyment of life - for good!

The AT Profession
The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) regulates the profession and teachers complete a three year, full-time training.  Jill Payne has been a full teaching member of STAT since July 2002.  Find out more at  www.stat.org.uk
